What types of careers would be best to be able to support a family, and yet be home enough for kids?

What are some really good careers that allow enough time to spend at home with family. Since my father was gone all the time, I always wanted a job that would make it to where I would be home for my children. But I thought of teaching, and yet so many people tell me that it takes away alot of time.

Any suggestions?

That was going to be my suggestion…..TEACHER…many teachers in my family and still plenty of time for family ‘togetherness’

teaching is a great job, and you get the entire summer off! Specialty jobs are always good. I’m guessing you are considering the education field, so what about special ed, tutoring, college prof… something like this. I personally would love to take my degree in education, and someday go back and get my masters in Speech Pathology. I would then be able to help children with speech problems. I really have a heart for this. I also prefer to work as a tutor vs. with an entire class room.

Jobs in the medical field tend to rake in the most dough. They can be very rewarding and they give you time to take care of your kids.

You could try some jobs like an x-ray technician, ultrasound technician, pharmacist, chemist, nurse, triage nurse, etc. They offer decent pay and require only an average amount of education.

My mom was a nurse, she only worked 4 days a week. It would be two days then two nights, all 12 hour shifts. Not bad at all.

  • Been there!:

I was going to say the medical field. But SAM said it all! I agree. There is a great need plus you can work various hours – sometimes make up your own schedule according to what particular area you choose.

Good luck! Need more mom in the homes, but so many need to work too!

Well the best one at this there to pick from where you work at your own time,no boss looking over your shoulder, you also set your time and make money from it,just choose any of the programs and you are good as go

I found a great online job that I do from home on Online Jobs Galore.
When I first got the Database of Online Jobs, I was very overwhelmed at all the companies with online jobs available. Some of them are big companies, like American Airlines, Nike, and many others. There are also a lot of clerical jobs for assisting website owners, as well as medical coding and billing (full training provided), Customer Service Agents, Virtual Assistants, Online Secretaries, Data enty keyers, and the list goes on and on.

I now work for a huge Hotel chain, and I take inbound calls and make reservations for people coming to the Hotel. I also help out other reservation agents if thier calls are a lot heavier than mine, I get extra bonus’ for helping other employees. I get paid very well, and I work in my p.j.’s, never have to leave the house.

Go check it out, I am hearing a lot of people are finding good online jobs with them, they are all over the internet: http://OnlineJobsGalore.com

    Good luck,
    Cindy R.
